Sway Presentation Search is a Chrome extension that helps you quickly find and access your Microsoft Sway presentations. Instead of manually browsing through your Sway library, this extension scans all your presentations and provides a fast search interface right from your browser toolbar.

1. What is Sway Presentation Search?

This Chrome extension allows you to:

Quickly scan all your Microsoft Sway presentations
Search through presentation titles instantly
Access presentations with one click from your browser
Work offline with cached presentation data
Use both regular and exact match search modes

2. Installation & Setup

Step 1: Install the Extension

Add the extension to your Chrome browser
You'll see a new icon in your browser toolbar
Initially, the icon will be gray, indicating no data has been scanned yet

Step 2: Login to Microsoft Sway

Make sure you're logged into your Microsoft account
Visit sway.cloud.microsoft.com and sign in
The extension will automatically detect your login status
Once logged in, the extension icon will turn green

Before Login Gray icon indicates you need to log into Microsoft Sway first

After Login Green icon shows successful authorization with Microsoft Sway

3. How to Use

Initial Setup - Scanning Your Presentations

Click the extension icon in your toolbar
Click the "Scan" button to start scanning your Sway presentations
Wait for the scan to complete - this may take a few moments depending on how many presentations you have
Once complete, you'll see the number of presentations found and the scan timestamp

Searching Your Presentations

Enter search terms in the search box
Choose search mode:
- Regular search: Finds presentations containing your search terms anywhere in the title
- Exact match: Finds presentations where individual words exactly match your search terms
Click "Search" or press Enter
Click on any result to open that presentation in a new tab

4. Interface Overview

The extension has three main tabs accessible from the top navigation:

Search Tab Elements:

Status Indicator: Green dot = presentations available, Red dot = no data scanned
Scan Button: Scans your Sway library for presentations
Info Panel: Shows number of presentations found and last scan time
Search Box: Enter keywords to find presentations
Exact Match Checkbox: Toggle between partial and exact word matching
Results Area: Lists matching presentations with titles and dates

Performance Tip: The extension can handle thousands of presentations efficiently. In the example shown, 2,277 presentations were scanned and are searchable instantly.

6. Troubleshooting

Red indicator / "Not logged in" error:

Ensure you're signed into Microsoft Sway in the same browser
Visit sway.cloud.microsoft.com and log in
Click "Scan" again after logging in

No results found:

Try broader search terms
Check if "Exact match" is enabled (disable for broader results)
Ensure you've run a scan recently

Scan fails:

Check your internet connection
Ensure you're still logged into Microsoft Sway
Try refreshing your Sway login and scanning again

7. Privacy & Data

Your Privacy is Protected:

Your presentation data is stored locally in your browser only
No data is sent to external servers except for optional feedback
The extension only accesses presentations you already have access to
All searches happen locally for maximum speed and privacy
You can clear all data anytime using the "Clear" button
